Motrhead's Lemmy Too Ill To Perform In Two Shows
SAN ANTONIO (CelebrityAccess) — Heavy metal legends Motörhead have cut two shows short and canceled a third date at the Aztec Theatre over apparent health issues with the band's frontman, Lemmy.
During the band's August 27th show at The Complex, in Utah, Lemmy walked off stage after songs, telling the audience that he was having trouble breathing and experiencing severe back pain.
Then, during a Sept. 1st show in Austin, he looked unsteady and gaunt on stage, and after playing for a short while, he paused mid-song to tell the audience 'I cant' do it' and left stage to the supportive chants of the audience.
In a subsequent statement from the band, Motörhead said they will not be performing at their San Antonio show but would continue with the tour. The band attributed Lemmy's illness to the thinner atmosphere of the two high altitude shows.
Lemmy has previously faced health challenges and in 2013, he was fitted with a defibrillator. He also has diabetes.
