Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center, SMG Renew Contract

FRESNO, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The City of Fresno has renewed its contract with SMG to manage the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center.

“We are extremely proud of the work we have done on behalf of our client, the City of Fresno," said Bill Overfelt, general manager of the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center. "During our first two and a half years, substantial progress has been made both financially and in the area of repositioning the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center in the local, regional, and national markets."

The Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center, originally opened in 1966, is comprised of the Selland Arena, the William Saroyan Theater, Ernest E. Valdez Hall, and the Convention Center itself. Most recently, the Selland Arena and Saroyan Theater made the January-February 2006 “Top Stops” list in Venues Today Magazine, reporting on concert attendance and total box office gross for the top venues worldwide. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
