Emily Kinney In Workout Gear Says Wassup Dancing With the Stars
The Walking Dead star Emily Kinney is ready to appear on Dancing With the Stars—just check out her moves! Kinney, 39, shared a video of herself wearing black workout gear, dancing outside in the yard to a Charlie xcx song. "Been rlly busy lately wassup @dancingwiththestars ✨," she captioned the post. "We should do it at the same time," commented Alanna Masterson. Kinney is not only an actress but a talented singer/songwriter. Here's how she stays focused and inspired.
Kinney starts her day with yoga and stretching. "Yoga is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body. But it can also have an impact on a person's exercise capacity," says Harvard Health. "Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory fitness."
Kinney relies on coffee to keep her going through the day. "Coffee is made from beans, a plant food," registered dietitian Devon Peart, RD, MHSc, BASc, tells the Cleveland Clinic. "Research is showing that the phenolic components in coffee provide health-promoting effects similar to those in vegetables or fruits."
Kinney is inspired by her friends. "They have the best attitudes. They are persistent and passionate and inspire me to not waste any of the opportunities that may come my way," she told NYLON. "Going to shows was one of the first ways I began to really feel connected to NYC. My friend Conrad has always inspired me to work hard. My ex-boyfriend Mike really believed in me in a beautiful way that I hadn't had in my life before, and has stuck with me. Mariah Carey, The Carpenters, and John Lennon are probably the first singers I loved that made me want to write songs."
Kinney isn't afraid to say no. "I'm learning how to say no sometimes," she told NYLON. "I'm learning to structure in time for myself or friends so that I feel balanced. I'm trying to do my best with every opportunity and be really honest and have fun. Any bad attitudes or meanies don't last long around me anymore because I just don't have time for it."
Kinney is a huge fan of watching other bands play live. "I love going to live music. I used to go all the time and I think this happened to a lot of people," she told Forbes. "But during the pandemic I sort of got used to not going, and I've gotten back into it recently. When I lived in New York I would go to a couple shows in a night. Because I would go to Rockwood, and then I'd go to whatever else, Pianos. I would plan to see different bands in one night. And then when I got to L.A. it was like a different scene but I still had my little places."
